Water meters vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, and from municipality to municipality. They also vary depending on the size of water pipe that feeds into them and their age. We have set a default calibration on your water sensor, but to get the most accurate data from your sensor, we recommend calibrating your Flowie-O.
We normally calibrate your sensor from water meter pictures, first taken during installation and a second picture taken during a follow-up visit to the site. However, sometimes water meter access or remote properties make it difficult to get those pictures. In those cases, we ask for the readings from your water bill.
Please take pictures of one or two recent water bills for the property and submit them to our support team at hello@alertlabs.com. Be sure to let us know which property and sensor the reading is for. We will use the volume and cost data from the bill to calibrate your system for a more accurate water usage and leak costs.
If you don't wish to send in the picture, you can use Alert Labs advanced calibration tab to add the manual readings and costs yourself.
